Lexus GS arrives in Oz
Japanese luxury mid-sizer arrives Down Under from $77,900Lexus will this week launch its luxury mid-sized GS in Australia. The model, priced from $77,900, will directly challenge the likes of Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class locally. It is to be offered with a choice of drivelines including two V6 petrol and one petrol-electric hybrid. Lexus will not offer a V8 petrol or diesel option in the foreseeable future.
Lexus chief executive, Tony Cramb, told motoring.com.au previously that the GS will build the company’s image moving forward.
"The all-new Lexus GS goes right to the heart of our brand values, delivering a vehicle that improves on the past and sets the benchmark for the future," said Cramb. "With its bold new look, newfound athleticism, innovative features, expanded range and exceptional pricing, the all-new GS range is sure to impress.
"The fourth generation GS will also cement our position as the industry leader in performance hybrids, offering an efficient yet powerful luxury tourer that leverages Lexus' 10 years of real world hybrid experience," Cramb concluded.
The all-new Lexus GS will not only introduce a new look for the marque – with its sharp ‘spindle’ grille – but an array of high-tech features across the range.
