The most satisfied new car buyers in Australia are those visiting a Lexus dealership, according to fresh information from market research company Roy Morgan.
Toyota’s luxury marque finished first place for customer satisfaction for the fifth time in recent years, after more than 50,000 consumers were surveyed in the 12 months leading up to May 2019.
Overall, the Japanese car maker scored 98 per cent - a four per cent increase on 2018.
But, it’s not the first time Lexus has won the hearts of customers. In 2016, an American JD Power survey put Lexus on top of the customer satisfaction chart after scoring the most points across things such as service quality, vehicle pick-up, service facility and more.
Swedish manufacturer Volvo finished second in the latest Roy Morgan research with a score of 95 per cent, while Isuzu UTE, Subaru, Mazda and Suzuki sit close behind at 94 per cent.
Further down the line were Audi, Toyota, Kia, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai, all with a score of 93 per cent.
Roy Morgan chief executive Michele Levine said Lexus' success followed four consecutive years with a 98 per cent score (2014-2017).
“What the leaderboard in May does show is that a variety of car manufacturers are performing well despite targeting different segments of the consumer market,” she said.
“Luxury car maker Lexus, the family appeal of the dependable Volvo and the ‘tradie-friendly’ Isuzu UTE all target distinct markets that would on the surface have little direct competition.”
