Renault has announced retail incentives for buyers of Clio and Captur in the form of 'Expression+' variants with extra features for little extra cost.
The Clio Expression+, which is available only with the EDC (dual-clutch) transmission, will be limited to 100 units and is claimed to deliver $2000 worth of goodies for just $1100 over the price of the standard Clio Expression. These include 16-inch 'Passion' alloy wheels, auto-on headlights, rain-sensing wipers, four electric windows, fold-in electric mirrors, keyless entry/start, a centre armrest for front-seat occupants and premium floor mats.
Externally, the Clio Expression+ can be identified by a trim pack consisting of a tailgate garnish, side protection strips, grille inserts and roof decals. The grille inserts can be ordered in black, blue or chrome, and the roof decals are available in Sports, Dots or Tri-colour patterns.
Like the limited-edition Clio, the Captur Expression+ is fitted as standard with the EDC transmission and only 85 units will be offered to retail buyers. The extras include 17-inch alloy wheels, side-steps, premium floor mats, weather shields for the front windows and the choice of metallic single-tone or non-metallic two-tone paint.
Renault claims this upgrade is worth $3000, but will set back the buyer just $1100 over the cost of the standard car.
"The arrival of the Clio Expression+ EDC and Captur Expression+ EDC shows that Renault is working hard to bring the most competitively specified and priced vehicles to the Australian market," says Justin Hocevar, Renault Australia MD.
"We are serious about our ambitions to grow our share and sales in Australia, and we are being very successful. This additional value-packed offer for the Clio and Captur ranges will undoubtedly increase their attractiveness to customers," Hocevar was quoted saying in a press release.
Prices are $21,390 for the Clio Expression+ or $27,090 for the Captur Expression+.
