Limited-edition MG3S hatch announced

Sporty hatch added to MG line-up for $16,990 drive-away

MG has introduced a new MG3S special-edition based on its entry-level MG3 auto hatchback.

The limited-edition MG3S is being offered exclusively to Australian customers, with only 100 examples on offer at a drive-away price of $16,990 – $1000 more than the price of its base MG3 Core auto ($15,990 plus on-road costs).

Available in two exterior colour options (white/red/black or yellow/black), the MG3S adds sportier side skirts, a blacked-out rear spoiler and wheels, weathershields and limited-edition badging.

In addition to the colour options, red/white/black models will get red piped floormats, red interior vents and a red grill, while yellow/black models get a black grille, black floormats and black mirror caps.

Powered by the same 82kW 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and paired exclusively to a four-speed automatic, the sportier looking hatch also gets the brand’s seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty and seven-year roadside assist coverage.

Like all MG3s, standard features include a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, emergency brake assist (EBA), cruise control and an 8.0-inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and USB port.

And if all that’s not enough, the Chinese car-maker will even throw in a custom MG keyring.

The MG3S is on sale at participating MG dealerships now.
