If you’re hoping to get into an upgraded MY23 Hyundai Palisade by year’s end, you’d better act quickly.
That’s because the facelifted seven- and eight-seat large SUV – which officially goes on sale this week with a bold new look, more equipment and smarter safety tech priced from $65,900 – is in hot demand, and the 400 units available from launch are all spoken for.
Therefore those who order Hyundai’s biggest SUV now will need to wait at least four months to get their hands on one.
“We’re launching with about 400 cars on the ground at the moment, but I think our waiting times will still be similar to what they are today [for other Hyundai’s models],” said Hyundai Australia’s chief operating officer, John Kett.
“I think for Palisade, if you came into today [and placed an order], it’d probably take four months for us to deliver one.”
“That’s a new order as of today, but tomorrow’s another story. We’re continually looking at this.”
Meanwhile, Hyundai Australia says supplies of the outgoing Palisade are almost exhausted, with around 100 left in dealer stock, but the majority also have customer names against them.
But it’s the facelifted Palisade that Hyundai is tipping Aussies will be happy to wait for, thanks to a heap of new safety and tech, along with a five-star ANCAP safety rating for the first time.
The South Korean car-maker says it has sold a total of 6045 Palisade units since it went on sale Down Under in late 2020, representing a 3.6 per cent share of the large SUV segment.
