Mercedes-Benz has released the first teaser of its next-generation V-Class and the related Vito delivery van ahead of their joint unveiling in the second quarter of 2025.
Set to go on sale in most markets in 2026, the new family of vans is tipped to raise the bar for technical prowess and, from the looks of the teaser, come with a more stylish, curvier look.
Said look will seemingly be highlighted by a silver-star bonnet emblem for the V-Class, a more rakish screen (for less drag) and lots of glossy chrome.
Ensuring it raises the bar for range, performance, refinement, comfort and tech the 2026 Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Vito will ride on the German brand’s all-new electric van architecture known as VAN.EA.
Said to be modular and scalable, the new foundation for Benz’s next-gen vans will come with an 800-volt electrical architecture to allow for charging up to 350kW, as well as 22kW AC charging.
Full details will be revealed at the unveiling next year, but flagship versions will have a range of more than 500km and come with dual-motors and all-wheel drive.
From launch, the Benz vans and people movers will get a sophisticated Level 2+ autonomous driving aids that will be upgraded to Level 3 (hands-off, eyes-off the road in geo-fenced areas) cruise control before the end of this decade.
Later on, Mercedes will even challenge the likes of Tesla by introducing its own robotaxi based on the V-Class but has not yet given the timeline for the minivan that will feature Level 4 autonomous aids.
