Manthey-Racing, the company behind the Nurburgring record breaking modified Porsche GT2RS has launched its products Down Under.
Effective immediately, Victorian Porsche dealers, Porsche Centre Doncaster and Porsche Centre Brighton. can supply, fit and warrant Manthey-Racing parts for Porsche’s fastest ever 911.
The Porsche GT2 RS MR kit used in the October 2018 record-breaking 6min 40.33sec Nurburgring lap (pictured) consists of an improved aero package, adjustable suspension, upgraded brakes, an additional water tank for intercooling and magnesium wheels. The GT2 RS MR was comfortably faster than the record set by a standard Porsche 911 GT2 RS just weeks before.
The MR Aerodynamic Package includes underbody components, canards, an enlarged rear diffuser and bigger, more aggressive rear wing. Suspension upgrades include multi-adjustable coil-over dampers, springs and strut tops and braking is enhanced via upgraded lines and pads. Lighter magnesium wheels are offered in a choice of finishes.
The price for the full kit fitted in Australia is Euro79,911 (approx $129,300).
Buyers should note, however, that import duties, shipping and GST are NOT included.
Porsche Centre Doncaster will deliver its first Porsche GT2 RS MR later this week. A Manthey-Racing kit for the Porsche GT3 RS is expected to be available in Australia from early 2020.
Manthey-Racing head of sales, Michael Grassl, was in Australia this week for the announcement of the local MR kits.
“We receive a lot of enquiries for our MR packages and parts from all over the globe and we must ensure that the Manthey-Racing process is replicated when installing our kits. Both Porsche Centres have invested in our tools and technical training to assure that the cars will be set up to our specifications,” Grassl explained.
Grassl stated Porsche’s warranty for the turbocharged, rear-drive 911 GT2 RS is unaffected by fitting the MR kit.
The two Australian operations are the first retailers outside of Germany to be cleared to install the Porsche GT2 RS MR kit.
