Maserati Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte MC Edition revealed
Flagship Trofeo models get a blue and yellow makeover and some extra toys to celebrate racingMaserati has unveiled a new limited-edition series of models designed to celebrate its rich racing heritage – again – in the form of the Maserati Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte MC Editions, and they’ll all be available to order in Australia soon.
Based on the top-spec Trofeo versions of all three models, the MC Edition makeover is essentially a limited-run cosmetic touch-up comprising primarily of Giallo Corse (three-layer yellow) and Blu Vittoria (matte blue) paint.
The bespoke new colourways are complemented by a series of piano-black exterior trim bits, gloss-black alloy wheels, blue brake callipers and unique badging adorning the front wings and B-pillars.
Ensuring customers don’t feel short-changed by the inevitably higher asking price – still to be confirmed – is an electronic sunroof, Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system and driver assistance package; all features usually available as optional extras on the regular Trofeos.
Other unique touches include blue carbon-fibre interior elements, blue and yellow stitching, embossed logos and bespoke badging.
“Yellow and blue are the colours of Modena, the city that symbolises the Motor Valley and is the home of Maserati,” said Maserati.
“Unprecedented performance and driving pleasure require an uncompromising visual impact: taking Maserati’s roots as a starting point, MC Edition creates a perfect ‘racing style’ and celebrates the power rooted in the beating heart of racing and the DNA devoted to the competitions typical of the Motor Valley.”
Despite the vibrant new styling and extra toys, no changes have been made under the skin of any of the included models, meaning they all continue on with the familiar twin-turbo 3.8-litre petrol V8 which is still good for healthy outputs of 433kW/730Nm.
According to Maserati, the MC Edition variants will be available in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and China as of this month, but we’re yet to see a price list or market-specific allocation.
