McLaren's bespoke outfit, MSO, has pulled the drapes off 15 new special-editions based on its 720S supercar that pay tribute to the supercar-maker's success on track.
All cars in the McLaren 720S Coupe MSO Apex Collection, launched overnight, are said to be destined for European buyers and come adorned with the apex speed of the fastest corner of five different circuits.
The first is Apex Great Britain that will be made in a limited run of just four cars (two RHD, two LHD) featuring a special 110mph inscription on its MSO-sourced extended side sills – a reference to the 177km/h apex speed of Silverstone's fastest Abbey corner.
Another three (one RHD, two LHD) MSO specials commemorate the Hockenheimring with an 85mph (137km/h) engraving for the track's famous Mobil 1 kurve.
Meanwhile, Apex France (one RHD, two LHD) features a 104mph (167km/h) apex speed for the Signe curve at the end of Paul Ricard's Mistral Straight.
Apex Belgium, again, is a run of just three cars and features a 103mph (166km/h) reference to the speed carried thought Spa's famous Eau Rouge section.
Finally, Apex Italy (one RHD, two LHD) has a 90mph (145km/h) inscription to pay tribute to Monza's Ascari chicane.
MSO says owners will be offered an F1 paddock pass and free passenger hot laps, presumably with its works race car drivers at the wheel.
Keeping in theme with the track feel, each McLaren is based on the fastest 720S Performance model and come equipped with the optional MSO Track Pack that adds extra bonnet vents, rear fender intakes, carbon-fibre mirror caps, 10-spoke forged alloy wheels, a sports exhaust and a gloss carbon-fibre active rear wing.
Inside, there's a pair of carbon-fibre race seats, titanium half-cage and McLaren's Telemetry System.
If that's not enough, buyers are offered additional MSO options including extended shift paddles, a bespoke steering wheel and key.
In the UK, where first deliveries start next month, each special-edition McLaren 720S Coupe MSO Apex Collection car costs £288,813 ($A528,000) – a price premium of around £70,000 ($A130,000) over the standard McLaren 720S Performance without options.
