Mercedes-Australia has rolled out its upgraded 2025 Mercedes-Benz C-Class line-up and announced that it has shaved thousands off the prices of the Mercedes-AMG C43 and C300, before on-road costs are added to both.
Following the MY25 updates, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC is priced from $123,800 (plus on-roads) and now pumps out an extra 10kW from its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder mild-hybrid, with total power peaking at 310kW, with the same 500Nm torque peak as before.
The power comes from a recalibration of the engine management and seems to have had a transformative effect when it comes to performance, with the C 43 now capable of launching from 0-100km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
That's 0.3 seconds quicker than before, which is huge amount in motor vehicle sprinting terms.
Included in the new lower price, the C 43 comes equipped with the Night Package II that adds a darkened grille and dark chrome badging, the AMG Dynamic Plus pack that adds red brake calipers, AMG dynamic engine mounts, a Race driving mode and AMG Track Pace telemetry.
Other goodies include a free AMG Performance steering wheel finished in Nappa leather and a suede-like microfibre. The AMG Performance Seats are finished in black leather and red stitching, while there's a metal trim finish for the dashboard.
The other car to benefit from the updates is the Mercedes-Benz C 300 that continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine that produces 190kW and 400Nm of torque, but also gets a brief burst of 15kW/200Nm under hard acceleration.
Priced from $98,200, the C 300 is now cheaper than before but like its faster AMG sibling also boasts an enhanced kit count that sees it bag Benz's Digital Assistance Pack, Digital Lights that have adaptive high-beam lamps, a powerful Burmester 3D surround sound system and a new augmented reality satnav system.
There's no word yet if any other members of the C-Class family will also soon receive price tweaks but in the first six months of 2025 sales of the mid-size premium sedan are down by 27 per cent to just 816 sales – although that figure is just 25 cars behind the BMW 3 Series.
Overall, Mercedes volumes, meanwhile, are up by an impressive 16 per cent on its 2024 sales performance.
