Mercedes-AMG has revealed new special-edition A 45 hot hatch that celebrates its victory in Formula 1.
Called the Mercedes-AMG Petronas 2015 World Championship Edition, the snappily-named A-Class is painted in the same colour scheme as the winning F1 W06 hybrid racer.
Featuring ‘Petrol Green’ highlights and black detailing, the special A 45 also comes with a larger front splitter, large rear spoiler and 19-inch alloys with green highlights.
Inside, the F1-themed A-Class gets AMG sports seats.
Under the bonnet the 280kW 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine remains unchanged, as does performance -- the newest A 45 AMG taking the same 4.2 seconds to 100km/h, from standstill.
Set to be launched at the final F1 race this weekend at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the special-edition A 45 will sell for around $95,000 in Europe.
It’s not known how many, if any, of the special-edition A 45 AMGs will be made or if it will venture Down Under.
