Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe spied testing

German two-door coupes are back in vogue, so it's no surprise that Mercedes is working on a sporty new coupe of its own

The smaller sibling to the stunning new E-Class coupe, Mercedes-Benz two-door C-Class, has been spotted testing outside the German firm's well guarded compound.

Styling remains familiar to the C-Class sedan, the coupe's front section, tail lamps and rear bumper all shared with its four-door counterpart. The centre section, roofline, doors and windows however, are all obviously changed to suit the smaller proportions of the 2+2 coupe.

Still heavily disguised, the rear side window is reported to include a design feature similar to the "Hofmeister kick", the lower forward curve found in the C-pillar of all BMW coupes.

We expect mechanical and engine options to be the same as those offered in current C-Class sedan, a choice of diesel and petrol units powering the handsome new coupe.

Pricing and full specifications will be announced closer to the vehicle's launch, which could be as early as the Paris Motor Show in September.
