The radical new look of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been revealed in official images leaked by GermanCarForum a day ahead of the car's official reveal.
Full images and details will be announced tomorrow night ahead of the E-Class upgrade's world debut at the Detroit motor show in January and a local release next June (sedan and wagon) and September (coupe, cabriolet and E63 AMG variants).
However, the drastic departure from the traditional quad-light design of all E-Class models since 1995 can now be seen in these official images of the new-look sedan and Estate.
As we reported last week, the new single-lens headlight design with distinctive LED character line was partially revealed in numerous spy shots and an official teaser video.
As can also be seen in these leaked images, two different grille designs will differentiate the facelifted E-Class variants, as with the latest C-Class.
Entry-level Elegance will wear a three-bar grille and three-pointed star bonnet mascot, and Avantgarde model grades receiving a sportier two-slot grille with a large integrated black Benz badge.
Naturally, the refreshed E-Class will also come with a redesigned bonnet, bumpers, front quarter guards and tail-lights, while the single leaked interior shot reveals a fully revised interior featuring a sportier three-spoke steering wheel, centre stack and instrument cluster with three deeply hooded dials.
Mechanical details of the 2013 E-Class will not be known until tomorrow, but Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the diesel-electric E300 will become its first hybrid model in Australia.
Watch this space for full official 2013 E-Class images and details at 7.00pm tomorrow.
