MG MG4 prices slashed

Promo pricing sees the MG4 temporarily become Australia’s cheapest EV

The 2024 MG MG4 has sporadically taken the crown as Australia’s cheapest EV at $30,990 drive-away, however its reign will be short-lived and end on October 31.

MG Australia says the promotional pricing is a display of its belief the MG4 “is the EV for everyone”, which is why the Excite 51kWh’s drive-away offer is being echoed on the higher grades by an $8000 factory bonus on MY23 vehicles and a $5000 bonus on MY24s, including the range-topping XPOWER.

“We know that people may have been considering an EV but potentially have held off due to the cost now with this limited time offer we’re giving everyone the opportunity to own an MG4,” chief commercial officer Giles Belcher said.

“The current campaign starts with our MG4 Excite 51 starting at $30,990 and then factory bonuses of up to $8000 can be availed across our other trims including the high-tech Essence 64, the Long Range 77 and the powerful XPOWER.”

It’s worth noting there are no mechanical or equipment differences between the MY23 and MY24 MG4s, meaning it would be worth seeking out an MY23 and saving the extra cash, however we’ll be focusing on the current model for the coming pricing breakdown.

FYI, the Excite 51kWh’s $30,990 drive-away figure applies to both model years.

Applying the $5000 bonus to the MY24 (current) Excite 64kWh sees the list price drop from $41,990 to $36,990 plus on-road costs, while the better-equipped Essence 64kWh drops from $44,990 to $39,990.

The usually $50,990 Essence 77kWh plummets to $45,990 and the rapid XPOWER dips under the $55k barrier at $50,990 – down from $55,990.

Simply take another $3000 off for the MY23 pricing…
