MINI Australia has announced local pricing and specification details of its stretched six-door Clubman variant, ahead of its local launch in November.
As detailed from the international launch in Sweden the importer will offer only petrol-engine variants of the Clubman, commencing with the Cooper specification at $34,900 plus on-road costs.
The MINI Cooper Clubman rides on 16-inch alloy wheels and is offered standard with a six-speed automatic transmission. There are fog lights to the front and rear of the car and rear park distance control, while inside there’s cloth upholstery, a ‘Visual Boost’ multimedia interface with a 6.5-inch monitor, guideline-equipped reversing camera and Bluetooth audio streaming capability.
Other interior highlights include an LED light package, automatic air-conditioning with second row ventilation included and ‘storage compartment package’ that includes items such as map pockets and a floor neat for the luggage area.
Safety isn’t discounted either, with forward collision warning fitted as standard.
The Cooper variant is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, developing 100kW and 220Nm, driving the front wheels.
Step up to the MINI Cooper S Clubman ($42,990 plus on-roads) and you gain a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which provides 141kW/280Nm peaks. Backing up the increased urge is the new eight-speed sports automatic transmission.
In addition to bespoke suspension tuning, the Cooper S Clubman gains ‘Performance Control’ which electronically operates on the front axle to reduce understeer and increase traction where required.
Alloys step up to 17 inches diameter and are joined by a sporty dual exhaust system, while the tailgate benefits from standard-fit ‘comfort access’, allowing contactless operation.
A mix of cloth and leather trim lifts the interior under the LED light package, as does the addition of a John Cooper Works leather-trimmed steering wheel. Auto-air with second row vents and the storage compartment package are also included; likewise the forward collision warning and rear park
distance control.
The similar Visual Boost interface and 6.5-inch monitor is enhanced with MINI’s navigation system, while retaining the guideline reversing camera and extended Bluetooth capability.
