MINI Australia has confirmed the Countryman Blackheath Edition will grace showrooms from this month, priced from $59,990 drive away.
Honouring MINI’s United Kingdom heritage, the Blackheath pays tribute to the south-east London location of the same name. It employs a host of ‘blacked-out’ features to distinguish itself from the regular MINI Countryman range, and is strictly limited to 60 examples.
The $59,990 drive away price tag reflects a circa $7000 premium on the Cooper S donor model, however MINI Australia points out that figure is backed up with added equipment.
The changes start with a ‘Midnight Black’ metallic paint hue, paired with a matching roof colour and mirror caps, along with 18-inch ‘Pin Spoke’ alloy wheels.
Moreover, a high gloss black is utilised for the roof and side moulding, while black trims surrounds the headlights, taillights, door handles and front grille. Finally, black ‘COUNTRYMAN’ badging adorns the tail gate to denote the car’s Blackheath status.
A similar theme permeates the interior, including ‘Leather cross punch’ upholstery finished in carbon black, an Anthracite headliner and piano black highlights.
Elsewhere, the Blackheath leverages the standard suite of equipment found on the Cooper S, including a panoramic sunroof, tinted privacy glass and heated front seats, the latest Navigation Professional system with 8.8-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker harman/kardon premium Hi Fi system, Head Up Display and MINI Find Mate system, with two Bluetooth remote tags included.
As with the Cooper S, the Blackheath employs a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine that is good for 141kW and 280Nm, sending drive to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Order books for the MINI Countryman Blackheath Edition are open now, with Australian allocations strictly limited to 60 examples.
