Mitsubishi investigated for defeat devices

.Overnight, the Japanese car-maker had 10 of its sites raided across Germany as prosecutors began to gather evidence for what could be another Dieselgate-style investigation.
Interestingly, three of the sites raided belonged to Continental – a supplier already believed to be co-operating with the Frankfurt-based prosecutors.
According to newswire Reuters, Mitsubishi had yet to comment the fraud investigation that involves allegations it deliberately cheated emissions testing with a defeat device.
The surprise news that Mitsubishi is being investigated arrives almost five years since US regulators disclosed that Volkswagen was being investigated for emission irregularities.
Since then, both Daimler and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have been embroiled in the emissions scandal.
