COMING SOON: Nissan X-TRAIL

Fourth-generation mid-size SUV emerges in the US, but Australian version will be different come 2022

The new Nissan X-TRAIL has made its world debut in the US, in the form of the 2021 Nissan Rogue.

But while the sharper exterior design, more luxurious cabin, upgraded safety and better connectivity will all transfer to the next-generation X-TRAIL, there will be key powertrain differences for Australia’s version and we’ll have to wait until 2022 for it to arrive from Japan.

Still, with seven seats and a new e-POWER hybrid drivetrain, the Mk4 X-TRAIL should be Nissan’s best answer yet for the top-selling Toyota RAV4.
