The Nissan Pathfinder family SUV range has just become more affordable in Australia, with the addition of a new entry-level ST-L and front-wheel drive options, cutting entry into the range by around $10,000.
Now priced from $59,670 before on-road costs, the new Pathfinder ST-L is available in 2WD or 4WD (+$4500) guise and slots in below the mid-spec Ti and range-topping 4x4-only Ti-L (from $82,490).
Also new to the range is a more affordable front-wheel drive Pathfinder Ti variant priced from $67,990 (plus ORCs), while four-wheel drive can be had for a $4500 premium.
That marks a $1000 increase on the previous Ti 4WD’s entry price of $71,490 (plus ORCs), while the flagship Pathfinder Ti-L has been given the same increase.
Naturally, ST-L grades bring less standard equipment, but the bones are much the same.
That means the Pathfinder’s 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine (202kW/340Nm) and nine-speed auto remain intact, along with a 2.7-tonne towing capacity.
Other equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and fog lights, front and rear parking sensors, tri-zone climate control, roof rails, and an electric tailgate.
Nissan’s suite of safety and driver assistance aids includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and more.
Heated front seats, a leather-appointed steering wheel, 10.8-inch head-up display, and 9.0-inch central infotainment touch-screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto also come standard, along with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.
