As part of the MY12 upgrade to its 3008 range, Peugeot Australia has extended the model’s equipment offering, while changing the line-up’s nomenclature and offering as standard its Assured Service capped-price servicing program.
Entry-level 3008 Active replaces the previous XSE grade while high-spec 3008 Allure supersedes XTE variants.
Active models now receive Bluetooth telephony, USB audio connectivity, Cielo glass ceiling and head-up display as standard. Peugeot saying the changes add $2000 of value to the overall package. Meanwhile, Allure models add leather upholstery for a $2500 increase in value.
Despite the extra equipment, Peugeot says its manufacturer recommended list prices have only increased by $500.
Both 3008 models offer as standard a comprehensive list of safety equipment. This included six airbags, stability control, hill start function and dynamic roll mitigation for a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
3008 models are powered by the choice of a 115kW/250Nm 1.6-litre petrol or 120kW/340Nm 2.0-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engines. Both are married to a six-speed automatic transmission as standard. Combined cycle fuel economy averages are rated at 7.7L/100km and 6.7L/100km respectively.
All MY12 Peugeot 3008 models also carry Assured Service (capped price) plan as standard, offering customers fixed price scheduled servicing for three years or 60,000km (which ever comes first). The service fee is $330 per scheduled service under this plan.
