Mahindra's initial dealer network and model roll-out are part of a bigger planNew Mahindra Dealer Network
The new Mahindra range will initially go on sale on June 6 in NSW only with 10 dealers and 15 outlets commencing the initial roll-out.
Another eight will come on stream by the end of the month. According to the Chairman of TMI Pacific, Mr Michael Tynan, as soon as the NSW network is established and operating smoothly, the dealer networks in Queensland and Victoria will follow within the next six months.
The dealer networks in South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory should then follow by mid-next year.
Future Model Plans
Mahindra is about to invest more money in the next five years than it has spent in the last 60 years including three new vehicle platforms as well as new assembly facilities.
This will deliver a new SUV wagon replacement for the Scorpio by 2009 which will be evaluated for Australia.
A recent joint venture with Nissan and Renault to produce passenger cars including the Logan and a heavy-duty truck joint venture with International Truck and Engine Corporation in the USA will see Mahindra hit an annual production of one million units within the next five years.
The company is also one of the world's biggest tractor manufacturers with a strong following in Australia and three tractor assembly plants in the US.
Dr Pawan Goenka, President of the Automotive Sector, Mahindra and Mahndra, was emphatic that none of the joint venture Renault models would reach Australia badged as Mahindra but suggested that models from the new joint facility in India could be sold in Australia as Renaults.
