MG Australia has confirmed an all-new model for release here by September, based on the Chinese brand’s second best seller, the MG ZS small SUV.
Named the MG ZST, the new compact SUV will debut with a premium interior, elevated style, expanded driver assistance suite and a more powerful 120kW engine.
Powertrain details will be revealed closer to the model’s arrival, however, MG has confirmed the new SUV will come with more grunt than the 82kW 1.0-litre turbo-petrol three-pot and the 84kW 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine currently offered in the ZS.
The new model will also come with the brand’s comprehensive driver assistance suite, MG Pilot, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and more.
The MG ZST will be available in two trim levels and backed by MG’s seven-year/unlimited-km warranty with roadside assistance.
“The ZST’s fit, finish and technology such as MG Pilot, 360-degree camera and virtual instrument cluster will offer a new level of comfort and premium value features to the segment,” said MG Australia and NZ chief executive, Peter Ciao.
“It’s pleasing to see how our current line-up of SUVs have been accepted and reviewed by our customers as a stylish and spacious compact SUV that’s built for the everyday.”
Stay tuned for more details closer to the MG ZST’s arrival.
