More than 25,000 Mitsubishi Outlander SUVs recalled
Rear-view camera issue requires fourth-gen Mitsubishi Outlander SUV to head back to dealershipsThe current fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander is under recall in Australia, with more than 25,000 examples of the popular mid-size SUV impacted by an issue with the rear-view camera.
A recall notice issued by the federal department of transport today says that a software issue may cause the rear-view camera image to be temporarily disrupted when the vehicle is reversing.
This obviously increases the risk of an accident involving anyone located behind the car, so owners are being advised by Mitsubishi that they’ll be contacted (by mail) and asked to take their vehicle to a franchised dealer to have the software updated, free of charge.
The recall impacts a total of 25,653 Mitsubishi Outlander SUVs built between 2021 and 2023 (MY22 and MY23), across all model grades and including plug-in hybrid variants.
