Mitsubishi Australia has reintroduced the Outlander Black Edition SUV, set to arrive in showrooms next month from just under $48K before on-road costs, sporting a toughened exterior and extra interior goodies.

Previously offered as a full-time variant back in 2024, the return of the Outlander Black Edition mid-size SUV is only temporary this time round.
Examples are due in local showrooms in February, commanding a $1450 premium over the variant on which it’s based, Outlander LS all-wheel drive (AWD).
That means that while the Black Edition nabs most of the LS’s standard equipment – including Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control AWD system – it also borrows features from the higher-spec Aspire, including heated front seats, microsuede upholstery with leather-appointed bolsters, an eight-way power adjust driver’s seat, and synthetic leather door trims, front and rear.

Outside, lots of black – go figure. The standard blacked-out bits include the roof rails, roof (two-tone scheme), quarter window garnish, fog lamp bezels, side mirrors, belt-line mouldings, and dynamic shield.
There’s also black 18-inch alloy wheels and material black garnishes on the front and rear bumpers.
The Outlander Black Edition isn’t offered with the Japanese brand’s plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain and is only available with the brand’s 135kW/244Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.
Mitsubishi has also quietly introduced a base-spec Outlander ES two-wheel drive (2WD) with a 5+2 seat configuration for private buyers. Previously only offered to fleet buyers, the seven-seater is priced at $42,540 plus on-road costs and fitted with the same equipment as the base five-seat ES.
The limited-edition 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander Black Edition will arrive in showrooms from February and is restricted to just 1000 units, meaning you’d better get in quick if you want one.
