Two more versions of the new Volkswagen Touareg have been confirmed to arrive in Australian showrooms from late October or early November.
The additional Touareg variants will be powered by the same 190kW/600Nm turbo-diesel V6 as the Launch Edition (from $89,990 plus on-road costs) already on sale, but will offer varying levels of equipment and a starting price of $79,490 (plus ORCs).
That’s the price for the entry-level Volkswagen Touareg 190TDI, which includes as standard Vienna leather upholstery, four USB ports, 19-inch alloy wheels, 9.2-inch Discover Pro navigation, electric tailgate and Volkswagen’s full array of electronic driver assistance technology including side assist, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking and traffic jam assist.
Between the 190TDI and the Launch Edition will be the Volkswagen Touareg 190TDI Premium ($85,490 plus ORCs). It will be offered with 20-inch alloy wheels, IQ Matrix LED headlights, air suspension, softer Savona leather upholstery (optionally available in Mistral white) and massaging and ventilated seats.
Both variants are available with Volkswagen’s $8000 Innovision Package , which adds the digital instruments and high-end infotainment package of the Launch Edition, while the Touareg 190TDI Premium will be offered with an $8000 Sound and Comfort Package, $8000 R-Line Package and a $3000 panoramic sunroof.
The third-generation Volkswagen Touareg range, which is available in six colours, comes with a five-star ANCAP safety rating and ADR Combined fuel consumption as low as 7.9L/100km. More details will be announced closer to the launch of both models.
