Mystery new Nissan NISMO car teased

Nissan to unveil new high-performance NISMO model on August 8

Nissan is preparing to expand the number of high-performance NISMO models it offers, teasing a single dark silhouette of the faster car ahead of its unveiling on August 8.

Looking like it will be based on a conventional hatch or sedan, rather than an SUV or wagon, no further details have been released.

Nissan NISMO’s current line-up consists of hotter versions of the Japanese-market Note Aura, LEAF, the Z coupe launched recently and the flagship GT-R.

One option could be a faster NISMO version of the Nissan Skyline four-door sedan sold in Japan, but more is likely to be teased in the build-up to its reveal.

NISMO CEO Takao Katagiri has previously confirmed the performance division is developing a hybrid-powered sports car, but the shape of the car teased suggests the car to be revealed this week will be less exotic.

NISMO will also roll out a standalone EV that will help define the sub-brand’s future, and while no timings have been given for that car, a launch in 2025 is anticipated.

Stay tuned as the incoming new NISMO model and its relevance to the Australian market will be revealed this week.
