New 2025 BMW M5 super-sedan and wagon teased

BMW’s incoming new M5 sedan and wild M5 Touring wagon shown in tyre-shredding video

The incoming 2025 BMW M5 sedan and M5 Touring wagon have emerged on YouTube in a fresh teaser video that gives us our first undisguised look at the front-end styling of the high-performance duo.

Other snippets from the video of the G90 BMW M5 include another look at its wider fenders, larger air intakes, rear diffuser and trademark quad pipes.

Looking far more aggressive than the regular BMW 5 Series, the M5 is rumoured to feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with a large electric motor, 18.6kWh lithium-ion battery and eight-speed automatic transmission.

Combined, the electrified twin-turbo V8 will pump out around 535kW and 1030Nm of torque, channelling all its might via all-wheel drive.

With figures like that, both the M5 sedan and M5 Touring will deliver a sub-3.0sec 0-100km/h dash and top speed should be well above 300km/h without the mandatory 250km/h speed limiter.

It will set up an intriguing battle with the forthcoming plug-in hybrid Mercedes-AMG E 63 S E Performance, not to mention the more traditional-engined Audi RS 6.

The latest teaser suggests the BMW M5 will be unveiled in the coming weeks, ahead of first deliveries later this year.
