When the sound of a hard-charging V8 or W12 isn't enough, Bentley engineers have developed new technology that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to score a fitting soundtrack to your drive.
The new tech, dubbed Bentley Adaptive Music, was created in collaboration with British AI music creator LifeScore Music.
Claimed to be capable of creating complex algorithms based on a Bentley Continental GT or Flying Spur's engine rpm and level of acceleration, plus other inputs, the tech works to compose new music in real time that constantly adapts to your driving.
The result is a soundtrack that matches relaxed touring to more energetic and spirited driving.
Relying on a sound bank library of recordings, Bentley claims that up to 100 billion unique music tracks can be self-composed for a 60-minute drive.
Those recordings, if you're wondering, are made of clips of "world-class musicians", Bentley says, playing both classic and contemporary instruments recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios.
For now, Bentley says its Adaptive Music showcases what's possible with AI and it has no plans to introduce it to its current models. Instead, it plans to continue to develop the technology to launch on its first pure-electric vehicle that's set to be introduced in 2025.
Mercedes-Benz has revealed that its upcoming pure-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS limousine will be offered with four different soundscapes when it's launched later this year.
