New-gen 2025 Peugeot 5008 priced for Australia

Bigger seven-seat sibling to the 3008 gets a single mild-hybrid powertrain and competitive pricing

The all-new 2025 Peugeot 5008 seven-seat SUV has been priced from $55,990 plus on-road costs and is due to arrive Down Under in second half of the year.

Joining the smaller five-seat 3008 that arrived in late 2024, the new 5008 will be available in just two guises: Allure and GT Premium.

Carrying a $3000 premium over the 3008 it’s based on, the new-gen 5008 is powered by a 100kW/230Nm 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder mild-hybrid powertrain pinched from its donor vehicle.

The little turbo-petrol mill is boosted by an electric motor that contributes up to 15.6kW/51Nm under acceleration and can also drive the 5008 in pure-EV mode for short distances at low speeds.

A six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission takes care of gear-changing duties and sends drive to the front wheels.

The 5008 measures 4791mm long, 1934 wide, 1694mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2901mm, making it 250mm longer than the 3008, but 175mm shorter than a Toyota Kluger.

That means the VW Tiguan Allspace-replacing Volkswagen Tayron will provide a better size-match.

Within, the cheapest 5008 Allure comes with the third row of seats as standard, plus 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, a huge 21-inch curved i-Cockpit display, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger and 360-degree camera.

Spend another $12,000 ($67,990 plus-on-roads) on the GT Premium and you’ll get adaptive LED headlamps, Nappa leather upholstery, a panoramic roof, a 10-speaker Focal premium sound system, heated and cooled 10-way electric-adjust front setas with massage function and heated outer seats in the second row.

As with other Peugeot models, the 5008 should eventually be joined by the all-electric E-5008, however the EV is yet to be officially confirmed for our market.

How much does the 2025 Peugeot 5008 cost?
Allure – $55,990
GT Premium – $67,990
