Nissan has revealed a second teaser image of an all-new compact SUV concept seven days ahead of its world debut at Brazil's Sao Paulo motor show on October 28.
Revealing more of the vehicle than the first teaser image did a week ago, the second picture shows an edgy new design that could preview the styling direction of the next-generation JUKE.
As we've reported, Nissan has opted to introduce the concept in Sao Paolo due to the importance of the Brazilian market in the company's plans. Brazil, one of the four BRIC nations – the others being Russia, India and China – is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
However, it's not clear whether the as-yet-unnamed concept points to a replacement for Nissan's smallest SUV, or yet another pint-size crossover in the Japanese brand's line-up.
Nissan Australia Managing Director Richard Emery, who recently viewed a number of future Nissan models, indicated it could be the latter and said it was no guarantee for the Australian market.
"There were some products I saw that I wouldn’t add to the line-up without taking something else out," he said. "This global approach Nissan has means they might say we are going to build a small compact SUV and we are going to build three for different parts of the world.
"I (Nissan Australia) am a unique because I am kind of Asia-Pacific or Asia, but our buyers are like Europeans and Americans.
"So Nissan might offer three cars globally that in Australia would all fit within the one segment. So sometimes you think 'would that one be better than that one when we are already have too any models, we are too spread'.
“I probably got more of a headache than an opportunity from what I saw, to be honest.”
