New Porsche app helps you nail the perfect lap
The only catch is once you’ve downloaded it you have to buy a GT4, GT3 or GT3 RS to try it outA new Porsche app has been launched on the app store that harnesses the German car-maker's optional Sport Chrono pack to forensically dissect your lap to make you a faster driver.
The app, called Porsche Track Precision, is said to turn your phone into a dash cam, lap timer and telemetry recorder.
Pairing with the Sport Chrono system, the new app gives you insight on lap times, racing lines and even allows video playback that shows your steering, throttle and brake inputs.
There’s also readings for g-forces pulled and your lap’s performance figures.
Porsche says more than 60 race circuits are already pre-loaded and, if you mount your phone to your windscreen, the app will even show you the lines if you’re unfamiliar with a new race track.
Once up to speed you can even race your previous lap’s ghost car, just like a real-life game of Gran Turismo.
