Skoda’s forthcoming Superb large car update has been outed days before its official reveal.
Images leaked by China’s Xcar and republished by
show the updated flagship in liftback or sedan form from several angles. The design update is subtle, to put it mildly, headlined by new bumpers, bold ‘SKODA’ lettering adorning the rear tailgate and familiar corporate face.
Look closer and you can see evidence of the Superb’s highly touted Matrix LED headlights, borrowed from within the broader Volkswagen Group and installed in their first Skoda application.
The Superb is said to have grown incrementally over its predecessors – 8mm longer and 1mm wider, according to reports.
Such small exterior changes are unlikely to impact interior space if at all.
The newcomer has been slated for an October Australian arrival, where it will be available with carryover engines and a new operating system.
Skoda Australia has confirmed it will not be taking a new plug-in hybrid variant.
The Superb will be revealed in full on May 23.
