Mitsubishi revealed a subtle facelift for its ASX model in New York last week — barely a month after the Geneva motor show unveiling of two badge-engineered French models based on the car.
Keeping its compact crossover looking fresh is an astute move on the part of the Japanese firm, that shares the ASX's "Project Global" architecture with the two derivatives from Peugeot and Citroen.
According to Mitsubishi the ASX has sold 210,000 units to date, worldwide — including 11,000 in Australia. And the revised ASX will reach the local market later in the year, introducing the new design language set to spread gradually through the model range. As the company's press release tells it, Mitsubishi design will migrate to a "Solid – Safe — Simple" look the company claims is "engineering-driven".
Pricing and specification for the updated ASX will be announced closer to the updated model's local launch.
