The 2025 Jeep Compass has been teased once again ahead of its full unveiling in the coming weeks.
Confirming production would begin later this year at the Stellantis Melfi plant in Italy, the new tease shows off the how the new Compass will adopt a new interpretation of the Jeep's iconic seven-slot grille that features LED elements and is combined with a set of boxier headlamps that look lifted off the latest all-electric Recon concept.
At the rear, the new Compass gets a pair of horizontal L-shaped elements that hug the shape of the rear Jeep's haunches.
Based on the Stellantis STLA Medium architecture, the Jeep Compass is related to the latest Peugeot 3008 and larger 5008.
Once introduced it will come with hybrid, plug-in hybrid and full all-electric powertrains, with all-wheel drive available from launch.
It’s expected the hybrid variants will be powered by Stellantis’ 100kW 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and a 21kW electric motor with transmission duties handled by a six-speed dual-clutch automatic.
As far as Compass EVs, there could be as many as three with the entry-level versions of the new Compass primed to score a single 160kW e-motor, rising to 230kW for the mid-range offering.
At the top of the tree will be a 240kW dual-motor version which should offer the quickest acceleration; however it will be the mid-spec model that offers the biggest range: up to 700km from a full charge of its 98kWh battery.
Claimed to blend “affordable Jeep capability, best-in-class performance, and state-of-the-art technology", the new Compass will introduce the firm's latest driver assist tech.
It's not been explicitly confirmed if the Compass will be offered with a 'Trail Rated' badge to its latest model, but if it does, expect the most rugged versions to lead its class for off-road traction, water fording, axle articulation, ground clearance?and general capability.
With deliveries set to kick off in Europe in 2025, it’s thought other markets, like Australia, might have to wait until early 2026.
