The 2025 Volkswagen T-Roc has been the latest victim of an online leak following images of the next-generation small SUV being posted to Instagram.
Thought to be genuine, the images posted by rollenderreporter look like they've been lifted off the car’s infotainment system but clearly show how the upcoming model will bear a strong resemblance to the latest VW Tiguan and other new product.
Sharing a thin upper grille and light bar connecting the slim triangular headlamps, below the badge is a huge front opening that mimics the Tiguan, as well as the latest Mk8.5 Golf and new Passat.
More similarities with other models include an interlinked rear light bar and aero style covers for the alloy wheels.
The new T-Roc is expected to adopt the Volkswagen Group’s MQB Evo architecture under the skin and largely mirror the engine line-up of the Golf hatch.
Like the Golf range, expect the T-Roc to be offered with a 110kW 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine, as well as a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel and a 150kW plug-in hybrid set-up.
It’s been hotly tipped that an electric version will also be offered under the ‘ID.Roc’ nameplate, however that car will be completely unrelated to its combustion-powered sibling and based on the completely different MEB platform.
The ID.Roc will arrive later in 2026.
It’s not yet known if there will be a high-performance R version this time around, but it’s likely.
The T-Roc was VW’s second best-selling vehicle last year with 7777 registrations, with only the Amarok ute beating it (8400).
