Maserati will debut the next member of its growing Folgore EV family on April 15, with the recently revealed Maserati GranCabrio the prime suspect.
The Italian sports-luxury brand has released a pair of social media clips in recent days, one of which shows snippets of the GranTurismo Folgore, an electric powertrain, Formula E racer and a couple of snapshots of the mystery model.
We’re tipping it’s the 2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore given the lines of the vehicle in the teaser image match that of the exotic convertible, and the fact the electric GranTurismo has already been shown to the world.
There’s been plenty of talk about an electric MC20 supercar but none of the teased features or lines match the low-slung mid-engined speed machine.
That said, none of them explicitly show the GranCabrio’s altered silhouette or folding roof, leaving an outside chance of this being a GranTurismo Folgore spin-off – a limited edition or even faster version perhaps.
The Trident is writing a new chapter. ?

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long for the full reveal.
Maserati is charging towards an all-electric future and will stop releasing new internal combustion models as of next year, with each of the established line-ups primed to gain a Folgore version by the end of 2025 – meaning there is in fact an electric GranCabrio and MC20 in the works regardless.
