Nissan Altima priced from $30K

Mid-size sedan poised to undercut segment champ Camry
Nissan's Altima will roll into local showrooms next month, priced at the highly competitive figure of $29,990.
That price, (estimated at $33,513 drive-away), applies to the new car's entry-level ST model powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine. The Altima will be sold in four levels of trim, with an alternative engine choice being a 3.5-litre V6 for the range-topping Atima Ti-S.
"The all-new Nissan Altima is an outstanding next-generation sedan," said Peter Jones, Managing Director and CEO at Nissan Australia. "With contemporary styling and intelligent technology, this exciting new model offers comfortable but dynamic driving for all Australians."
The model structure will run from the ST, through ST-L, Ti and Ti-S at the top of the range. All models will feature a continuously variable transmission (CVT), with the 2.5-litre cars mustering 127kW and 230Nm and the Altima Ti-S rated at 185kW and 326Nm.
Nissan is revealing little at this stage about standard and optional features for each of the Altima grades, but has said that NissanConnect will deliver on-board apps that can be operated through the driver's smartphone.
Safety features listed for Altima Ti and Ti-S consist of Around View Monitor, Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection and Lane Departure Warning.
Altima is the latest in a barrage of new models Nissan has announced or released over the past 12 months. The importer has today revealed plans to introduce a new X-TRAIL here during the second quarter of next year, with seven-seat capability for the first time.
And following from this month's scheduled launch of the new Pathfinder, there will be a supercharged hybrid model joining the range next year – also during the second quarter. That will be a busy period for Nissan, with a Pulsar SSS sedan due then as well.
Lastly, the small cross-over SUV we have come to know as Dualis will revert to its home market name of 'Qashqai' when it goes on sale in second-generation form next year.
Altima prices
ST – $29,990
ST-L – $35,890
Ti – $40,190
Ti-S – $45,390
