The highly anticipated upgraded 2022 Nissan GT-R NISMO was revealed in Japan on Wednesday at an event at Nissan’s Global Headquarters. Part of the Nissan reveal included the announcement of a fun collaboration with fast-food giant McDonald’s in which the new GT-R NISMO will be immortalised in Happy Meal toy form.
Japanese Happy Meals or ‘Happy Sets’ as they are known over there have included a wide range of Tomica diecast model toy cars featuring Japan’s best-known car brands and models. In 2020, Toyota teamed up with the Golden Arches to include Toyota GR Supra toys in the Happy Sets.
The Nissan and McDonald’s collaboration also includes a special ‘Secret Toy’ for some lucky Japanese Happy Set recipients who will receive a special edition gold Nissan GT-R NISMO. While the rest will receive a NISMO Stealth Gray Nissan GT-R NISMO, which is still a pretty good toy!
Japanese residents can also enter a competition online for their chance to win a place at a special test drive event in the real-life version of the gold GT-R NISMO with a Nissan Motor Development Driver. This one is definitely for the adults, so hopefully, the kids will enjoy playing with their Happy Meal toy...
The Happy Set will be on sale for a limited time in Japan from April 30.
