Nissan wants V8 Supercar followers to get on board with its multi-faceted promotional campaign for the category's opening round, the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
New to its 'fan activations' is an 'Engineering Station' that allows fans to listen in on the dialogue between car and pit team, and monitor telemetry during the race. Fans will need to have access to the rear of the Nissan garage at the circuit to avail themselves of the Engineering Station.
Also a new fixture is the VIP viewing platform that's part of the 'Best Seats In The House' activation, located on the inside of Turn 11. And as part of that activation, Nissan will be running its 'stretch Cube' to ferry fans around the track.
"Nissan is continually striving to deliver more engaging experiences for motorsport fans," said Nissan Australia CEO Richard Emery.
"We were pleased with the reception our activations received last year, and with the introduction of the Nissan 'Engineering Station' at the back of the team garage, we hope to offer even more excitement and access for fans in 2016."
Michael Caruso's #23 Altima will wear new livery for the Clipsal, a chrome vinyl design reflecting a Nissan and Nismo motif.
"I was already a huge fan of our 2016 NISMO livery, but when I saw it in chrome for the first time I was really, really impressed," Caruso said.
"Internally, once Nissan decided that we would use the same design but in chrome vinyl for the street circuit events this year, we dubbed it the 'street fighter' livery. I'm sure everyone will agree that the #23 Altima lives up to that nickname in its new chrome colours."
For those who cannot physically make it to the circuit this weekend, NISMO.tv will broadcast the event. Last month, during the Bathurst 12 Hour, over 300,000 viewers from 196 countries tuned into NISMO.tv to witness the event unfold. Nissan is hoping to improve on that sort of interest for its V8 Supercars programme.
Additionally, the brand is keeping its fans up to date with its 'Live to Race' newsletter, emailed out each month with information concerning Nissan motorsport news from around the world. As well as Nissan's involvement in V8 Supercars, the newsletter will report news for Super GT, Pirelli World Challenge and Blancpain GT.
