Nissan has released a teaser image of an upgraded JUKE-R ahead of its world debut at the UK's Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 25.
No details accompanied this dimly-lit show, but it's the small hyper-SUV clearly features all-new front-end styling and presumably it will also bring more power from Nissan's latest GT-R supercar.
First released in 2012, the original JUKE-R -- a build-to-order prospect priced at more than $500,000 -- was powered by a 362kW twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 from the GT-R of the day.
Now that the GT-R NISMO has been released, the world's first "supercar crossover" is expected to come with the same 441kW/652kW engine.
That should make it even quicker than its predecessor, which could hit 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds on its way to a 257km/h top speed.
"The Nissan JUKE-R is back – and now with added NISMO," said Nissan.
"The original was the world's first supercar crossover. Now, Nissan is set to unleash its latest evolution… the Nissan Juke-R NISMO.
"Using the latest technology, styling and running gear from NISMO products, the supercar beating crossover will be unveiled and unleashed at Goodwood Festival of Speed (UK) on June 25th."
It's not yet known whether the newly-branded JUKE-R NISMO is a concept or will lead to another limited-edition production model – or indeed a full-time one.
Either way, as with the original JUKE-R, it's unlikely to come to Australia, where the still-wild 160kW JUKE NISMO RS is expected to be part of a three-model NISMO model range to be launched here by the end of this year.
