Nissan has revealed an even wilder version of its crazy JUKE-R NISMO at the UK's Goodwood Festival of Speed, packing the same 441kW/650Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 from the GT-R NISMO supercar.
That's up almost 80kW from the original limited-edition JUKE-R released in 2012, when the GT-R offered 'only' 362kW and could hit 100km/h in less than three seconds.
No performance claims have been made, but the original JUKE-R was said to hit 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds on its way to a 257km/h top speed, so the upgraded "crossover supercar" could do it in as little as three – making it just half a second slower than the GT-R NISMO.
Officially labelled only a concept at Goodwood, where it made its global dynamic debut, the JUKE-R also features chunkier front-end styling, including new carbon-fiber bumpers – with bigger air inlets up front and a lower rear diffuser.
While the rest of the body is borrowed from the facelifted Series II garden-variety JUKE released here in April, additions include a chunky carbon-fibre tailgate spoiler, side skirts and wheel-arch extensions.
Teased in the lead up to its Goodwood debut, the new JUKE-R concept could lead to a limited-run build-to-order model like the original, just a handful of which were produced at price of more than $500,000 apiece.
The mad all-wheel drive JUKE-R should not be confused with the tamer JUKE NISMO or JUKE NISMO RS production models sold in the UK, where they were powered by tweaked versions of the 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four found in the standard JUKE Ti-S, but offering up to 160kW and 280Nm in front- and all-wheel drive form.
The JUKE NISMO is expected to be part of a
including the GT-R NISMO and 370Z NISMO.
