Hyundai Australia has revealed full details on its adventure-ready XRT option packs, which can be added across its all-wheel drive Santa Fe range in Australia.
It comes after a dealership leaked information about the incoming accessory range which is offered in two guises: XRT Adventure and XRT Peak, priced at $6990 and $9990, respectively (including fitment).
As customer demand for more off-road capability on mainstream family SUVs continues to increase, expect to see more such products entering the market. For example, Subaru has confirmed a rugged new Wilderness sub-brand that will toughen-up the Forester and Outback vehicles initially, with more models to come.
Even the new Lexus GX luxury SUV has a rock-crushing 'Overtail' model grade that is currently the best-selling version of that vehicle in Australia right now.
Developed by Hyundai Australia in collaboration with the Hyundai America Technical Centre, a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty is extended to the option packs, when fitted by a Hyundai dealership at new vehicle purchase.
As we’ve previously reported, the more affordable XRT Adventure pack adds black 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion A/T Plus tyres,?a 30mm suspension lift?(new springs, dampers, hubs), XRT-branded mud flaps and an underbody skid plate.
The $9990 XRT Peak pack meantime comes with all the same hardware as well as integrated side steps, roof racks and roof platform, bonnet protector and weather shields, all dark-tinted or black.
The beefed-up suspension and lift brings capability improvements over the regular Santa Fe, including more adventurous 19-degree approach and 22-degree departure angles, each marking a two-degree improvement.
The breakover angle is upped to 19 degrees, also an improvement of two-degrees.
Ground clearance is also upped to 210mm over the standard SUV’s 177mm.
Hyundai says two tyre sizes are approved for the XRT packs, with the Korean car-maker recommending either 235/65R17 108H or 245/70R17 110H.
“Our XRT option Packs enhance Santa Fe Hybrid's off-road capability to help our customers boldly explore the great outdoors,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia chief executive, Ted Lee.
“The vehicle looks fantastic as an XRT, too,” he added.
