Out now: motoring iPad App 73

In this FREE issue of the motoring.com.au iPad App we drive a top-spec HiLux SR5 4x4 dual-cab back-to-back with Toyota's ultimate pick-up, the latest MY14 Tundra CrewMax Platinum flagship

There's no denying Aussies love a ute. While we may not love them as much our South East Asian neighbours, they certainly still hold a tight grip in regional areas and for cashed-up tradies.

In fact, the Toyota HiLux has been one of the nation's top-selling vehicles bar none for years, so we wondered how it fares against its larger Yankee cousin, the Tundra. The Tundra is not sold in Australia by Toyota. Instead it is imported and converted top right-hand drive by Queensland-based company, Performax.

In the latest motoring.com.au iPad App magazine we drive a top-spec HiLux SR5 4x4 dual-cab and then step up to the upgraded MY14 version of the top-shelf Tundra CrewMax Platinum, just to see how a bigger, brawnier, better-equipped and far more expensive Toyota ute compares to Australia's favourite one-tonner.

Then in one giant leap, we go from workhorses to raging bulls. Following in the successful footsteps of the Gallardo, the Lamborghini Huracan has very big shoes to fill, and driving force behind it is Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann. We go one-on-one with the Lambo chief to talk company philosophy, concepts and, of course, the Huracan.

What started out in the '80s as a small enthusiast meet with fewer than 100 Volkswagen Golf GTI owners has snowballed into a massive festival. Worthersee is not just thousands of fans parading their prized wheels around the streets of this small Austrian lakeside village, but now also serves as a showcase for the Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda brands to showcase concepts and upcoming models. Check out our wrap on what was big at this year's festival.

Plus, you'll also find videos, reviews, news and gadgets and a world of interactive auto entertainment to keep you amused for hours.

Issue 73 of the motoring.com.au iPad App is available for download now from the Newsstand in the iTunes store.
