PARIS MOTOR SHOW: Yet another Type R "prototype"

Honda is now taking the mickey – yet another "prototype" Type R Civic displayed

We may learn differently when the motoring.com.au team on the ground in Paris hit the show hustings later today, but it looks like Honda is again taking the mickey with yet another Civic Type R "prototype".

The car shown hereabouts will take the stage alongside the debut of the Civic hatch at the Paris show later today. Says Honda it offers "an insight into the styling of the next-generation Honda Civic Type R which will be officially unveiled in 2017".

You reckon? Don't know about you but we've had plenty of insights. The car has been teased again and again... to say nothing of the occasions it's been around the Nordschleife.

This time the Type R is "clothed in a highly reflective, finely-grained brushed aluminium-effect finish".

The rest as far as we can see is almost 100 per cent production.

By the time the official unveiling takes place next year – almost certainly at the Geneva Motor Show, we'll be sick of the sight of it. But boy, it should be a hoot to drive...
