The Peugeot 5008 is getting a mid-life refresh, receiving a myriad of styling updates that will bring it closer inline aesthetically with the rest of the Peugeot family.
The 5008 will receive a new front end, featuring Peugeot’s “floating” front grille, seen most recently on the Peugeot 208 GTi and the Peugeot 2008. The 5008 will also sport redesigned headlights and chrome accents surrounding the lower fog lights, highlighting the updated front end. Much like the outgoing Peugeot 5008, the new 5008 will come with a variety of engine choices, or it will at least in Europe. No less than six engines will be on offer for our European brethren (four diesel and two petrol engines), and we expect that Aussies will have the choice of at least one of each, similar to the current engines available for the existing 5008. The new 5008 will also come packaged with a reversing camera, which should make parking in this five-door people mover a cinch. The updated 5008 will also feature a head-up display, which will provide information, such as current vehicle speed and distance from the vehicle in front, right in the driver’s field of vision.
These styling and technological improvements won’t come free though. Europeans are expected to pay at least £200 ($305) more for the base model and up to £350 ($534) for the top spec Peugeot 5008.
We contacted Jaedene Hudson, PR and Communications Manager of Sime Darby Motors Group (national importer of Peugeot and Citroen vehicles), who said that the “facelifted 5008 won’t be with us until next year. At this stage, it’s too early to comment on spec, pricing or lineup.”
