Pricing and specifications have been announced for the new Peugeot Partner and Boxer commercial vans, which are now on sale in Australia.
Continuing the relaunch of Peugeot’s LCV portfolio, the small Partner and large Boxer vans follow in the footsteps of the Peugeot Expert mid-size van launched in April.
That standard safety package includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and all Peugeot vans feature a minimum of four airbags as standard, with driver and passenger airbags complimented by either side curtain or thorax airbags.
Commenting on the launch of Partner and Boxer, Peugeot Australia managing director Ben Farlow said the new commercial vehicle line-up will become a cornerstone of the brand.
All three Peugeot vans will be supported by a five-year, 200,000-kilometre warranty including roadside assist and servicing intervals are 12 months or 15,000km.
“Partner and Boxer prove that Peugeot is here to disrupt the LCV segment, offering leading safety technology and practical features as standard," he said.
The all-new Partner is available in two body lengths – standard and long – and is built on a version of the EMP2 platform that underpins Peugeot’s passenger car and SUV portfolio.
Standard variants will be paired to a turbo-petrol drivetrain in two states of tune, while long variants are paired solely with a diesel engine and manual transmission.
Standard length variants will feature the choice of either an 82kW 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired to a six-speed manual, or a 96kW version paired to an eight-speed automatic – available from $25,490 or $30,990 plus on-road costs, respectively.
A long-body variant is powered by a 68kW turbo-diesel with five-speed manual gearbox priced from $29,990 plus ORCs.
The payload is one of the best in the segment, with load capacity of up to 1000kg, and a cargo area of up to 3.9 cubic-metres depending drivetrain and body length. Kerb-to-kerb turning radius is only 10.82m for the standard-length van and 11.43m for the long-body version.
The all-new Peugeot Partner introduces new-to-segment technology, including Surround Rear Vision which enhances the driver’s rear visibility by feeding back footage from two cameras to a large rear-vision mirror.
Due for introduction in the fourth quarter of 2019 and featuring up to a 4.5-tonne load capacity, the Peugeot Boxer will be available with a single 120kW/310Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel manual drivetrain and two body lengths (standard and long).
It will be priced from $47,470 (standard body) and $48,990 (long body) plus ORCs and both Euro 6 emissions-compliant models claim fuel consumption of 6.4L/100km.
Featuring over 11.5 cubic metres (13 cubic metres for long body) of cargo volume, with a maximum load length of 3.1-3.7m, the Boxer has been designed for a high level of reliability and endurance.
Like its smaller stablemates, the Boxer features standard autonomous emergency braking (AEB), reversing camera, rear parking sonar and four airbags.
Further details and specs will be announced closer to launch.
