Mercedes-Benz Australia has added a plug-in hybrid to its best-selling GLC family in the form of the new GLC 350e 4Matic SUV, and it’s priced on terms with the petrols.

The Finer Details
Priced from $99,900, the new 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e 4Matic slots in between the entry-level GLC 200 (from $89,000) and the GLC 300 (from $105,100), bringing the German brand’s EQ hybrid tech to its best-seller.
The GLC 350e’s combination of turbo-petrol and electric power delivers a combined 230kW/550Nm and offers up to 132km of NEDC driving range, plus an electric-only top speed of 140km/h.
Merc says a haptic accelerator pedal helps manage transitions between electric and hybrid power.
AC charging at up to 11kW comes standard and will take around two hours under ‘optimal conditions’ to deliver a full charge, while DC charging at up 55kW will see the battery go from 0-80 per cent in a claimed 20 minutes.
Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, self-levelling rear suspension, a panoramic sunroof, metallic paint, tinted windows, heated front seats with memory function and a head-up display.
An optional Sport Package ($6000) adds AMG Line exterior touches, sports seats, Nappa leather-clad multifunction sports steering wheel, larger 20-inch wheels and a bigger front brake package, among other niceties.
The Night Package ($1300) meanwhile can only be had alongside the Sport Package, adding with high gloss black exterior trim elements and a black finish for the 20-inch wheels.
The Plus Package, priced at $7600, adds the Driving Assistance Plus Package, Burmester 3D sound system, MBUX augmented reality navigation, heat and noise insulating acoustic glass, and Merc’s Digital Light with adaptive high beam assist plus.
The Road Ahead
The new GLC 350e 4Matic SUV is on sale from today, September 3, meaning Merc has beaten both Audi and BMW to the PHEV punch, though Lexus was there a long time before now.
