Polestar 3, 4 and 5 previewed

Fresh look at incoming new Polestar 3 large SUV, Polestar 4 mid-size SUV and Polestar 5 sedan

Polestar has released a fresh teaser of all three of its upcoming new-generation electric cars, two of which can be seen without disguise.

In the image, the looming 2023 Polestar 3 large SUV and Polestar 5 sedan can be seen facing away from the camera, along with the current Polestar 2.

However, the two Polestar 3 and 5 models are split by the Polestar 4 mid-size SUV, which can be seen here lurking under a thin sheet.

All four models are finished in white and feature full-width rear lighting signatures, however the specific design of the tail strips does vary from model to model.

This is the second time we’ve seen the new Polestar 3 without camouflage – the previous instance being a side-on image released earlier this month – however this new image shows the rear-end undisguised.

Save for the full-width lighting signature, the other detail of note at the rear is the pair of vertical aero flicks residing just above the bumper.

These flicks align with the tailgate’s primary contour line and the subsequent body sculpting between it and the bumper.

Stepping across to the Polestar 4, the SUV cuts a striking figure with its swoopy body and unique lighting signature.

As for the Polestar 5, the all-electric four-door GT car was previewed earlier this week when Polestar confirmed a prototype would be attending the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Clearly inspired by the Polestar Precept concept, at the rear-end the concept and production car look almost identical, with the only real disparities being the 5’s more subdued alloy wheel design and the traditionally opening rear doors compared to the concept’s rear-hinged units.

“Our order intake is at record levels and currently represents an annualised run-rate of over 75,000 vehicles, putting us in a strong position as the production landscape normalises,” said Polestar head of global sales Mike Whittington.

“In addition, with both Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 on the horizon, we are set to play a leading role in the electrification of lucrative and sizeable premium SUV segments.”
