The 2027 Polestar 4 has arrived in Australia with chassis upgrades, revised equipment packaging, new naming convention and a sharper price for its flagship Dual motor variant.

Available to order now with deliveries commencing July or August, the updated electric SUV retains its $78,500 before on-road costs entry price for the entry-level ‘Rear motor’, while the all-wheel-drive ‘Dual motor’ drops by $2000 to $86,350 before on-road costs.
The latest update follows last year’s MY26 revision and late-2024 Australian launch.
It arrives ahead of the expansion of the Polestar 4 lineup later in 2026 when a more conventional wagon body style – featuring a conventional rear window rather than a camera – will be added. In deference to this expansion, the existing model is now known as the Polestar 4 Coupe.

Polestar says both Rear motor and Dual motor variants have received significant chassis revisions aimed at improving ride comfort and driving precision.
Changes include recalibrated high-capacity passive dampers, revised springs and anti-roll bars, new polyurethane rebound stops replacing the previous internal rebound coil springs, and steering revisions designed to improve accuracy and response.
The Swedish-Chinese EV maker says the result is greater agility combined with improved ride comfort across a wider range of driving conditions.

Performance is unchanged, with the Dual motor remaining the fastest model in the Polestar range, capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Polestar has also simplified the 4’s hierarchy, which now comprises Rear motor, Dual motor and Dual motor with Performance Pack.
Equipment packaging has been revised, with a new $1200 Comfort Pack allowing buyers to add features including a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable steering column, easy entry and exit, and 12-way electrically adjustable front seats without stepping up to the Plus Pack.

The Plus Pack has been reduced from $8000 to $6500, while the Pro Pack has been deleted from the options list.
Meanwhile, the optional 22kW AC onboard charger is no longer bundled with the Plus Pack and is now available separately for $900.
Other options include an electrochromic glass roof, body-coloured lower cladding, privacy glass and a fully electric retractable towbar.
The latest changes build on the MY26 update introduced last year, which added physical steering-wheel buttons in place of touch-sensitive controls, an illuminated front Polestar badge and revised equipment packaging.
Sitting between the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in the lineup, the Polestar 4 is the Geely-owned luxury EV brand’s best-selling model both globally and in Australia.
So far this year ending May, its local 4 sales are up 39.6 per cent, underpinning a 13.7 per cent sales rise for the brand after a record 2025.
The new Polestar 4 estate is part of a new model rush for Polestar as it looks to build momentum after some tough financial times.
A significantly updated Polestar 3 launches in Australia shortly, followed by the Polestar 5 luxury saloon, while the 4 estate will be revealed before the end of the year, followed by an all-new Polestar 2 in early 2027. A compact SUV dubbed Polestar 7 will lob in 2028.
