Ram Trucks boss Tim Kuniskiss has declared that his US brand will launch a dizzying 25 'product announcements' within the next 18 months.
The bold plans were revealed in a LinkedIn post made by Kuniskis following the return to the CEO role four months ago after retiring from running Ram and Dodge in May 2024.
It's now thought the product bonanza has been triggered to help turnaround its ailing parent company Stellantis, which experienced a huge drop in profits, its CEO resigning and the company's fortunes worsening due to manufacturing and supply chain disruptions.
Ram's CEO didn't detail what's in store for the US brand but it's thought a Ford Ranger-rivalling mid-size ute – potentially the Ram 1200 – will be at the very top of his to do list, with the new pick-up truck already announced for a 2025 arrival.
Early reports suggest the mid-size Ram 1200 or Dakota might miss out on a rugged ladder-frame and ride on a car-like monocoque chassis, making it more of a rival for the Ford Maverick or Hyundai Santa Cruz.
If so, expect its towing might and payload capacity to trail the likes of the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.
For fans of Baja race-inspired trucks, reports suggest Kuniskis has already rubber-stamped the return of the Hemi V8, with the 6.4-litre supercharged V8 set to be used to power the next-generation Ram 1500 TRX, which will almost certainly bag even more power and torque than the last truck's monstrous 523kW and 882Nm.
Early reports suggest the TRX's return has been timed for 2026, even though the heavily updates MY25 Ram 1500 has an electrical architecture never designed to work with the old Hemi V8 family of engines.
In the meantime, the powerful Ram 1500 RHO uses the truck-maker's latest-generation Hurricane 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo and pumps out an impressive 402kW and 702Nm of torque – although those figures are some way off the V8 TRX.
Other models include more affordable versions of the Ram 1500 and possibly new EV and plug-in hybrid tech.
“Four months ago, I returned to the Ram brand with a clear mission: to build exciting trucks,” Kuniskis said in his LinkedIn post.
“Since then, we have been shaping the next evolution of Ram – a bold new chapter that honours the legacy of the brand while redefining its future.?
"There are 25 product announcements planned within the next 18 months, and it all starts on June 8th.
“I’m proud to be back, proud [to] be a part of this team, and more determined than ever to show the world… nothing stops Ram."
Expect to see new Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks coming soon and stay tuned for the first teases of what Ram plans to reveal in June in the coming months.
